Founded in 1954 (the 43rd year of the Republic of China), the company was originally named Wenshan Light Bus Company. In 1956, it was reorganized as Wenshan Motor Transport Co., Ltd., and in June 1962, officially renamed Taipei Bus Transportation Co., Ltd.
